Current and Upcoming Research Projects:
Co-Author, Miller, Jennifer & Kristina Van Buskirk “A View of the Lab Bench from the Judicial Bench: Postdoctoral Scholars and the Legal System” (December 2012-present).
◘ Collaborating with Dr. Miller on empirical legal research examining whether postdocs are treated as employees or students by the U.S. Legal system and whether that classification is to the postdoc’s advantage.
◘ Reviewed Westlaw database to identify relevant cases from federal appellate and state courts.
◘ Using the appellate court decisions as our data source, we are conducting exploratory mixed-methods research on the postdoctoral experience.

◘ Currently planning the upcoming 2013 Social Equity Leadership Conference hosted by North Carolina State University
◘ Part of the Conference Planning Committe.
◘ Providing support to conference chair, Dr. RaJade M. Berry-James, in organizing presenter information.
◘ Developing a knowledge management system centered around the conference, including a KnowledgeBase for research on social equity.
◘ Creating an interactive Internet presence to be used before, during, and after the conference to foster collaboration and Inclusive Excellence.
